A Stone in Aberdaron is a collaborative bookmaking project of Daniel Tobin (Interim Dean of the School of Arts; Emerson College) and Nathaniel Hester (MDiv, Duke Divinity School, ‘14) which explores the territory of the sublime and the landscape of sacred architecture. Tobin’s poem (on display with Hester’s paintings and etchings) investigates a forlorn parish on the North Shore of Wales while Hester’s formal arrangements attempt to capture the interplay between church, steeple, woods and cloud above his family’s United Methodist Church chapel in rural North Carolina.
